Nestled in a graffiti lined alley just off the bustling Carlisle Street you might blink and miss the battered metal door to Final Sound, but once you’ve walked up the stairs and been enveloped in the spacious tree-house environment its hard to forget. Here you’ll find warm sunlit rooms, excellent coffee and catering facilities and comfortable couches to lounge on while you work.

Established in 2007, with the concept of creating a new kind of studio space in mind we began our journey working on a laptop in various facilities around Melbourne, generating enough revenue to source a unique and creative space above Joe Camilleri’s music studio on Woodstock Street in Balaclava. Since these humble beginnings, the studio has grown into a bustling space with a dynamic vibe.

Final Sound have worked hard to create a successful boutique sound design and music studio with a distinctly laidback edge. We offer progressive, people orientated facilities with a focus on collaboration and quality. 

Everyone works across all projects as needed, while specializing in their own medium. We are a fast, efficient creative team using cutting edge technology to produce innovative design and music. In the spacious Studio One you’ll find a custom-made recording booth capable of handling VO and ADR to music composing and Foley. This sound suite has been comprehensively acoustically treated to achieve a sonic environment for both advertising and long form mediums. Its fully set-up for Source Connect allowing clients access to voices from all over Australia and internationally at a reasonable cost.

Upstairs you have the sunny Loft Studio, which was constructed specifically for long form and includes a recording booth and an acoustically designed 5.1 control room. Using a custom-built SGR speaker system for mixing film, documentaries and television series, it allows Final Sound to provide dedicated long form services.

Tucked away behind a pair of Indian temple doors is the Music Studio. Cleverly designed around a Neve analogue console, you have the option for an authentic old school sound or using the top of the line digital gear for a more modern edge.

We have the space nailed and have the talent locked down but there’s another thing we take seriously, the craft.
